Lời bài hát: Morning in the highlands

‘Aurore sur les Hauts-Plateaux’ (Dawn on the High Plateaux)

Lyrics: ‘A young woman walks singing and flashing a beautiful smile. Why are you smiling, young lady? Have you just received a letter from your lover [in combat] from the border? Or have you just received a reward?...’. The war has only been evoked by one word... just one... which lets us know that the country cannot yet have this Peace.

In this song, apart from the lyrics, the Hauts-Plateaux are also present through the rhythm and musical phrasing inspired by the traditional music of this region, one of the characteristics of the composer's music.

On 17.2 every year, Vietnam commemorates the day when the Chinese army crossed hundreds of kilometres of our northern border, thus declaring war. The main conflict lasted a month, but in reality it was a war, described as the ‘3rd Indochina War’, which lasted around ten years, causing the deaths of tens of thousands of people.
